A "Contour line" is an outline representing or bounding the shape or form of something. Below we explore a range of contour drawing styles.

Getting prepared

All you need is a roller pen, a sketchbook and a bunch of random objects. Sit these objects around you and use these for reference material and subject matter for your drawings. You can be explorative and free in these exercises, you don't have to make things look "realistic".

Drawing Styles:

#1 Contour Lines

#2 Continuous Line Drawing

#3 Blind Drawing

#4 Scribble Style

#5 Straight Lines
